Organizations have given importance to knowledge management in the business environment, which is why many of them begin to develop their own intranets.
An intranet is a platform in a company that serves as an internal communication tool for all employees, allowing easy sharing of resources between work areas, having information in one place and fostering a dynamic and up-to-date company culture.
Among the advantages of having an intranet in the company is promoting teamwork, since it favors collaboration and improves productivity in the monitoring and achievement of projects.
There is no single platform to develop an intranet. In this article we will focus on SharePoint.
SharePoint is a collaboration platform developed by Microsoft. It started as a document management tool and later evolved into a content management system.
It is a modern platform on which a collaborative intranet can be built. As a result, a company can use it for internal purposes and to simplify day-to-day business activities. Thanks to its simple user experience, it helps employees easily connect with information and experience. Being a Microsoft member connects natively to Microsoft 365, allowing employees to work from anywhere and collaborate effectively with team members.
Applications developed with SharePoint can be integrated with several tools, including Power Platform, which is a set of Microsoft tools integrated into Office 365, which allow the development, even without code, of intelligent and automated applications. It is a series of Cloud solutions for those companies that seek to join the digital transformation and automate their processes without the need for code.
Power Platform unites different solutions, among which are:
- Power Apps: Platform where with very little code (and even without code) applications can be created. Designed so that a business user can create their processes and applications autonomously.
- Power Automate: Tool focused on automating processes and tasks that we currently do manually.
- Power BI: It is a Microsoft data analysis service aimed at providing interactive visualizations and business intelligence capabilities with an interface simple enough for end users to create their own reports and dashboards.
The objective of all these modules is to be able to carry out a digitization of processes in an orderly, centralized and governed way from a single point.
